The best Beach Ball games for the beach
Sun on your skin, sand between your toes, and a beach ball flying through the air, that’s summer at its best. That’s why we’ve made a list of fun beach ball games to try. Some might already be summer staples for you, while others might be brand new. Either way, as long as you’re having a great time, you’re doing it right. So if you’re looking for fun things to do, keep reading!
Beach Ball volleyball
Simple and always fun: draw a line in the sand or use a towel as a net, split into teams, and let the games begin! A beach ball is light enough for younger kids but big enough to really smash. And because it moves slowly, everyone has a fair chance to hit it back. It’s extra fun with multiple teams or as a mini tournament. Unlike a regular volleyball, a beach ball won’t hurt when it hits someone, making it much safer and more suitable for little ones.
Keep it up
Sounds easy but it’s surprisingly tricky, especially with a soft beach ball! The challenge? Keep the ball in the air as long as possible without letting it touch the ground. Skilled soccer players may have an easier time juggling the ball with their feet, but that’s not the only way to play. You can also take turns seeing who can keep it up the longest using only their hands perfect for younger children. For an even bigger challenge, try using only your head to keep the ball up. Just hope the wind doesn’t make it impossible!
Pro tip: Keep score and reward the winner with an ice cream!
Team relay with the Beach Ball between your knees
Perfect for a group of kids (or adults ready to unleash their inner child). Split into teams and race through an obstacle course with the beach ball held between your knees. Drop it? Back to the start! Expect lots of stumbling and laughter. It’s hilarious to watch and even more fun to participate in. You’ll be surprised how competitive everyone gets and how dramatic the falls can be. This one’s a crowd favourite!
“Waterline Race”
Draw a line in the sand as a finish line, place all the beach balls on the starting line… and blow!
The rule: you can only move the ball by blowing it forward. First one to roll their beach ball over the line wins! This game is especially fun for younger kids and brings on the giggles for all ages. If it’s windy, just make sure you’re not blowing against the wind or you’ll be there all day! But even then, the fun won’t be ruined.
