The perfect pool for your little one
As the temperatures rise and the sun starts shining, there’s nothing better than having a refreshing backyard pool for your child. At Swim Essentials, we understand how important it is to choose the perfect pool, one that’s not only fun and safe but also meets your child’s needs and preferences. With so many options available, it can be challenging to decide which one is best.
Safety first
When choosing a pool for your child, safety is always the top priority. Here are a few key things to look for:
-
Durability: Choose a pool made from sturdy material that can withstand some rough play.
-
Edge height: For very young children, a low edge makes it easy for them to get in and out of the pool.
-
Anti-slip bottom: This helps reduce the risk of slipping.
-
Size and space: Consider the available space in your backyard and make sure there's enough room to safely walk around the pool.
The right size
The age of your child and the number of kids using the pool are both important factors in selecting the right size.
-
Babies and toddlers: A small, shallow pool is ideal. Think inflatable pools with a diameter of around 60 to 100 cm and a depth of 10 to 20 cm. At Swim Essentials, we offer baby pools in both Ø 60 cm and Ø 100 cm sizes.
-
Preschoolers (ages 3–6): Slightly larger pools work best here. A diameter of 120 to 200 cm and a depth of 20 to 40 cm gives them room to splash and play. Our kids’ pools are available in Ø 150 cm and 210 cm.
-
Older children: For bigger kids, consider large inflatable or frame pools that are 200 cm or more. Swim Essentials offers frame pools with enough space to swim and enjoy pool games.
Extras for even more fun
To make pool time even more enjoyable, consider adding some fun extras:
-
Inflatable toys: Add inflatable animals, swim rings, or beach balls to make the pool extra fun.
-
Shade solutions: A canopy or parasol is great for protecting your child from strong sun exposure.
-
Pool cover: Keep your pool clean when not in use and make the water last longer with a handy cover.
Pool care and maintenance
A clean pool is a safe pool. Be sure to change the water regularly and clean the pool thoroughly. For larger pools, a filter pump can help keep the water fresh for longer. You can also use special cleaning tools and nets to remove leaves and other debris.
